Thanks to Judy for sharing – this is even better than the KFC offer!  KFC is offering a free piece of chicken today in celebration of UNfry day, but Boston Market was prepared with a response: EVERY day is “unfried” day at Boston Market!  An email was sent to Boston Market VIP members with a coupon for a $1 meal (quarter white or 3-piece dark chicken served with mashed potatoes and cornbread).  VIP members were given a link to forward the emailed coupon to friends, so everyone can enjoy a very inexpensive meal with a printed coupon!

BostonMarket

Click HERE to print the coupon and click HERE for a list of locations.  You may want to call ahead to be sure your local restaurant is participating, but Boston Market hasn’t yet implemented a franchise program (and it’s usually the franchises that choose not to participate in a promotion), so this should be valid at all locations.

Thanks to Cheap Eats in Houston for the email link – Judy initially sent it, but my email computer crashed last week (it’s camped out at Boston Market waiting for a $1 chicken meal!) and rather than manually type in the looong address from my blackberry, I grabbed a link from Cheap Eats!

Thanks to Jennifer at the Washington Business Journal for sharing this great fall treat!  Stop by your local Barnes & Noble today with a printed coupon and enjoy a free kid-sized hot chocolate and small cookie!  Print a coupon for each member of your shopping party, and be sure to check out the other printable coupons, including a coupon for Scene-It games (Seinfeld, Star Trek, The Simpsons, and Twilight).

Walgreens has five free items this week. That means you have five free opportunities to brighten someone’s day by dropping off something they can use – well, some of the items are okay, but I recommend not dropping off the Dulcolax, unless you’re REALLY good friends!  Maybe just stick with the ChapStick and Robitussin To Go!

Tips for Beginners:

  • RRs are Register Rewards (gift certificates that print at the end of your receipt). Instead of paying cash for your next purchase, pay with RRs!
  • Register Reward deals can be repeated, but only one Register Reward per RR deal will print in a single transaction.
  • Do not use Register Rewards from one RR deal to pay for an RR deal from the same manufacturer. If used to pay for an RR deal from the same manufacturer, the completed transaction will not produce another Register Reward.
  • Use Walgreens and manufacturers’ coupons to save even more money with Register Reward deals.  One Walgreens coupon and one manufacturer’s coupon may be used to purchase one item, but you can’t have more coupons than items in any transaction.

Not impressed with this week’s CVS sales, but if you have expiring ECBs, perhaps you can find something to use them on ($0.25 Naure’s Bounty supplements, maybe?).  My local CVS store accepts expired ECBs (they beep and the cashiers usually push them through).  I believe they’re the exception to the rule, however, so avoid expired ECBS whenever possible.

Tips for Beginners:

  • The ExtraCare Bucks (ECBs) referenced below will print at the end of your receipt, and can be used like cash to pay for future purchases.
  • Most ECB deals have limits to the number of times they can be repeated. The limits are placed at the ExtraCare card level, so if your family has two ExtraCare cards, you can “double the deal limit”.
  • If you’re just starting out and want to save as much money as possible, check out in multiple transactions, and use the ECBs from one transaction to pay for another transaction.
  • Scan your ExtraCare card at the kiosk before shopping to print additional in-store coupons.

Thanks to Andrea for the great toy coupon reminder!  Even if you don’t have young children on your holiday shopping list, these coupons can be used to purchase inexpensive (but well-loved!) gifts for the donation drop-boxes.  My favorite this week is the Playskool Musical Sit ‘N Spin – with a $10 coupon, you can pick one up for just $10 (and even throw in a $0.99 Hungry Hippos game for a stocking stuffer).

Professional Couponing: Target allows the use of one manufacturer coupon and one Target coupon per item, so be sure to be sure to check out Attention Target Shoppers for a list of Target deals matched with manufacturers’ clipped coupons!

Coupon Printing Options: The “TQ” (Target Coupon) below, unless otherwise linked, may be accessed at Organic Grocery Deals.  Select the desired coupons, type in the quantity needed, and then click Get Coupons. To save on your household’s supply of ink and paper, the most recently released coupons may be printed at the Target gift registry kiosks. (The Target kiosks print slowly and print only one coupon per page, so take an extra dose of patience, if you intend to go this route!)

Thanks, Attention Target Shoppers and Stretching a Buck!

Great deal on individual-sized bottles of Starbucks Frappuccino this week ($0.29 each), and some over-the-counter medication money-makers (Zantec, Theraflu, and Triaminic). I do hope you’re all staying healthy out there, though, and have no need for any of this stuff!

It’s another non-fabulous week for Walgreens shopping, but the Unilever promotion is going again, so I’ll give them a little slack (it’s a great promo for stocking up on pasta sauce, mayo, and peanut butter).  If you have access to two computers with printer connections, you can pick up eight jars of Ragu for $0.37 each with the “Purchase 8/Receive $8 in Register Rewards” Unilever promo.
