Are you ready for some football?! (I typed that in my very best Hank Williams, Jr. voice – hope you enjoyed it!) If you’re one of the 27 million fans out there who already participate in the Fantasy Football phenomenon, then you probably already know about the must-have StatTracker application…which is free this year!
If you’ve not yet joined the leagues of Fantasy Footballers, the real 2009 NFL season begins Sunday, September 13th, so those who join now have a chance at good draft picks. You can create your own league or join an existing league (free of charge), or opt for a few more apps included with the paid membership (teams are $14.95 and leagues are $29.95).
What is Fantasy Football? Uhhh…it’s fantasy…and football…combined. (You’re welcome…next question!)
Why Fantasy Football? For sports fans, it’s a chance to manage a team all the way to the playoffs (fantasy playoffs, that is). Fantasy team owners draft real NFL players for their fantasy teams, and points are earned for their fantasy teams when real NFL players perform well in real NFL games. Fantasy Football points don’t convert to real SuperBowl rings, but you can earn prizes.
What if I don’t like football? I’m sorry – WHAT?? Just kidding! You don’t have to love football to enjoy Fantasy Football. To be somewhat stereotypical of sports and relationships, it can be a great way for couples to spend time together, rooting for their players or even competing against each other while watching the NFL games. If your significant other never misses a game, join a fantasy league and watch the games with him! You’ll definitely have more of an interest in the next fumble recovery!

Vacationing at home for Spring Break ‘09? KidZui is a “must-have” for kids between the ages of 3 and 12! While not designed to be the sole source of Spring Break family entertainment, KidZui is an excellent resource for your child’s alloted computer time. KidZui is not just another website…it’s THE world wide web for kids, containing over a million kid-friendly websites, games, and YouTube videos, that have all been reviewed and approved by a team of safety-conscious parents, teachers, and experts. A million isn’t enough? Add your own approved websites to your child’s KidZui browser!

KidZui is available in two levels: free account and paid membership. The paid membership provides some really cool additional features, including a homework helper, advanced reporting, and personalization/preference settings, but the full range of sites is available with both levels. Unlike most entertainment zones, the free account is very well done (no limited trial periods, blocked sites, etc.). Bottom line: the free account is awesome, but the paid membership is even more awesome!
Adorable – thanks to the McKids Family for sending this in! Register with The Wink Toy Company and receive a free 3″ Bittywink stuffed emoticon (a real-life version of the smileys!). The Wink Toy Company also sells 5″ plush emoticons (and a small variety of other products, which they appear to have just recently launched).

For those of you who were interested in the Gaming Headset earlier this week, here’s another great accessory to enhance the PC gaming experience…the Rumble Force Gamepad, WITH FPS! (FPS is the technology that allows the game controller to be programmed with any function on the mouse or keyboard, so that the controller can be used on even games that don’t permit controllers…cool, right?)

Here’s a fun travel activity for kids and parents…a Sudoku electronic puzzle game, regularly priced at $49.99, and on sale this week for $10 from Buy.com. Use the Google Checkout promotion discount of $10 and pay $0 out of pocket. Great for road trips, plane rides, and all-around entertainment anywhere, and it even comes with batteries!
