First of all, if you’re curious about what rare-earth magnets are (as I was!), here’s what Wikipedia has to say:
Rare-earth magnets are strong permanent magnets made from alloys of rare earth elements. Developed in the 1970s and 80s, rare-earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnets made, substantially stronger than ferrite or alnico magnets. The magnetic field typically produced by rare-earth magnets can be in excess of 1.4 tesla, whereas ferrite or ceramic magnets typically exhibit fields of 0.5 to 1 tesla.

My translation:
These magnets might even be strong enough to hold the kids’ construction paper projects to the refrigerator!

Springhill Nurseries is offering a repeat of last spring’s new customer offer, but this year…

1.) A coupon code is not required.
2.) The offer coincides with the One Cent Sale, meaning you can double the quantity of select items for just a penny more.

If you’ve never ordered from Spring Hill Nurseries before, order $20 worth of plants, flowers, trees, etc., and receive $20 off of your purchase total.  The $20 discount applies to merchandise only, so you’ll have to pay shipping, but there are many items available for $20 and under (and shipping is only $7.95).

Yes, I know we’ve all just barely put away the Christmas decorations, but since I missed the iMommies Christmas season in 2008…I think I should keep a keen eye out for 2009!  If you just can’t bring yourself to shop for an event 11 months in advance, there are plenty of other holiday items on sale at Oriental Trading Company through February 9th.  The sales items are too vast to list, but here’s what I found this evening…just a little something fun to put away for NEXT Christmas.

Two adult-sized Gingerbread Aprons, one child-sized Gingerbread Apron, and a box of Christmas resealable sandwich bags…with an online coupon code, my total came to $7.95.  Just $7.95 for a fun afternoon of Christmas crafts (uhhh 11 months from now), three cute aprons for each of the kids while baking (and they’ll look adorable hanging on the kitchen hooks during non-baking holiday times), and 150 festive sandwich bags for school lunches and holiday party favors.  Who can resist that?!

The last time I saw a “FREE with ANY purchase” online coupon from Bath & Body Works was around Easter time this year, but they’re doing it again for this fall! Purchase any product from Bath & Body Works though 11/23/08, and receive a free pluggable diffuser starter set (Wallflowers or SCENTPORT), when you bring in the printable coupon!

There are items priced as low as $1 at most store locations (if not all), and sometimes even less for clearanced items, but if specific Bath & Body Works products are staples at your house, this is a great time to stock up and receive a free item while you’re there!  (Also, while you’re there…make sure you sign up for their mailing list to receive additional great coupons via mail!)

Love it when IKEA seizes the days! They seized two weekends last month, and they’re at it again this weekend! If you’ve never been to IKEA – I highly recommend them. As I’ve said before, their furniture styles are not my furnishing style, but with two stories of products (at amazing prices, even without a sale), a household treasure can always be found!

The best deal this weekend?  Laminate flooring at $0.49 per square foot, with seven colors from which to choose (and a 15-year warranty)!

Here’s a little something for Santa to stick under the tree for the guys this year. Not really knowing the first thing about tools, I just interrupted the Cowboys game to consult my husband and his friend about this 40-piece set…I know, I know, but it’s not like I took them away from the interceptions and bad ref calls to ask what color curtains I should hang in the kitchen!

So here was my question: “What would you think if someone gave you a 40-piece socket set that wasn’t Craftsman or Snap-On?” (I just want you to know that by asking this question, I knowingly subjected myself to yet ANOTHER rendition of my husband retelling his tale of woe about how I used his $50 socket wrench for a hammer and broke it… :-P .)

Every day should be seized – I fully agree with that, and apparently, I’m not the only one! For those of you who enjoyed shopping, play time, and free breakfast at IKEA over Labor Day weekend – they’re doing it again this weekend!

For those of you who live near a participating IKEA location, order a free small breakfast and cup of coffee between Saturday, August 30th and Monday, September 1st. In addition to breakfast and shopping, IKEA has a fun play room for children (though our kids enjoy touring the store and testing all of the furniture and toys!).

If you’ve not yet been to IKEA, they have items for EVERY home! The furniture is not my style, but they have a huge two-story inventory of linens, organizational gadgets, dishes and utensils, artwork, and more…in addition to their furniture lines. Their prices are excellent, and I’ve never walked out of IKEA empty-handed!
