Visit your local participating Baskin-Robbins on Wednesday, April 29th, as they honor America’s firefighters with a $100,000 donation to the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) National Junior Firefighter Program. Purchase 31-cent small scoops and make a donation to local fire charities (at participating locations).
Thanks, Barbara!
Kathy Herrera, a mother who has suffered a loss that most of us cannot bear to imagine, has resolved to make a difference in the lives of other families, through the March of Dimes’ March for Babies.
Sweet Victor, Xavier, and Nicholas Herrera were born in November of 2005, and lived for only a few days. Determined to prevent premature births and birth defects, Kathy is joining the 2009 March for Babies Fort Worth, Texas event on April 18th. Her goal is to match the funds she raised at the 2008 event ($270).
Is it that time of year already? It seems like just yesterday that I wrote this same post for 2008? At any rate, mark your calendars! IHOP is giving away free shortstacks between 7am and 10pm on Tuesday, February 24th, in an effort to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network. Though a donation is not required to participate in National Pancake Day, this is a great way to give AND receive at the same time!
Thanks for the heads up, Melissa!
If you haven’t had a chance to purchase a Cold Stone Creamery wall star for the Make-A-Wish Foundation yet, don’t forget Thursday night is the 7th annual celebration of the World’s Largest Ice Cream Social. Donations are accepted (via the wall stars) for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and free ice cream creations, inspired by two Wish children, are given to all who attend!

Thanks to Chrishawna for sharing this sweet treat with even sweeter results! Throughout September, Cold Stone Creamery is selling wall stars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and to top it off (on Thursday, September 25th, 5pm-8pm), they’re hosting the 7th Annual World’s Largest Ice Cream Social, and all guests will be given a free 3-oz. serving of ice cream flavors inspired by two children: Jack and Emily…very special members of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This is a great time to take the kids out for ice cream and contribute to an amazing organization for children. While free ice cream will be given to all customers, this is not just a fun and free marketing campaign to promote a national creamery chain…there’s a very powerful reason behind this promotion.
