If you missed the last Chase enrollment bonus, here’s the new offer. Chase Bank offers rewards to Chase Visa debit card holders via a point system. Each dollar spent is worth one point, and as those points add up, you can redeem them to purchase products or gift certificates from an online catalog. (Chase actually has two reward programs and this one is completely free…the other program rewards three points for each dollar spent, though there is a small monthly fee.)
Enroll your Chase Visa debit card in the Chase Visa Extras free reward program and receive 5,500 free points as an enrollment bonus. The bonus will be added to your point balance no later than October 31, 2009, and can be redeemed at any point after that. What’s an extra 5,500 points worth? A free $10 gift card to CVS, Target, JC Penney, Chili’s, Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, etc.!
In addition to the free 5,500 points, you’ll automatically earn a point for every dollar spent when using the “Credit” option during any transaction.
For those of you who are new to bank promotions, my best piece of advice is this: Never open a new bank account without a promotion! Competing banks are willing to pay for your business, and as long as you’re aware of the terms, they can be great (and quick!) money-makers.
Banking service in the long-term is important too, but banks and promotions don’t get much better than Chase, in my opinion. We have a joint account, business account, two individual accounts, and seven savings accounts with Chase, and our experience with them has been exemplary (and both of my parents retired from Wells Fargo!).
The $100 Chase promotion is valid on Chase CheckingSM accounts, which have no monthly service fee if you set up direct deposit OR complete five debit card purchases per month. A $100 minimum deposit is required to open the account, but you’ll have immediate access to the monies deposited. Within ten business days of direct deposit set-up OR completion of five transactions, Chase will automatically deposit $100 into your account.
This is not an April Fool’s Day prank! Today, Upromise and Bank of America released two new credit cards to help families save and pay for college. The cards enable consumers to earn cash back on everyday purchases to help fund future education expenses or pay down eligible Sallie Mae student loans. Neither card has an annual fee OR a limit on the amount of college savings a cardholder can earn…which means completely free college tuition money, if the balances are paid in full each month!
For a limited time, the Upromise card programs also provide new cardholders with $25 in their Upromise account after the first qualified use of the card.
Present your Bank of America bank/ATM/credit card at participating museums this weekend (Saturday, March 7th and Sunday, March 8th), to receive free admission.

The first weekend of next month (Saturday, April 4th and Sunday, April 5th) is the last Bank of America Museum weekend of 2009.
Thanks to Barbara for sharing the updated 2009 offer! Suze Orman and TD Ameritrade have, again, partnered to offer a savings plan that comes complete with a $100 bonus. The savings plan requires that you open a free Save Yourself savings account through TD Ameritrade by 12/31/09 and electronically deposit $100 into that account for 12 consecutive months, earning interest throughout the entire 12-month period. At the end of the 12-month period, TD Ameritrade will deposit a $100 bonus.

The reward is not instant and the minimum monthly requirement has doubled from last year, but by next year, you’ll have $1300 (plus interest) in your account. If you already have a savings account, this is a painless way to save for next year’s spring break or summer vacation (just schedule a recurring monthly transfer). If you don’t already have a savings account, bank promotions and market research opportunities are aplenty – you could easily earn the minimum monthly deposit amount each month, just through those two avenues.
