Thanks to Barbara for sharing the updated 2009 offer! Suze Orman and TD Ameritrade have, again, partnered to offer a savings plan that comes complete with a $100 bonus. The savings plan requires that you open a free Save Yourself savings account through TD Ameritrade by 12/31/09 and electronically deposit $100 into that account for 12 consecutive months, earning interest throughout the entire 12-month period. At the end of the 12-month period, TD Ameritrade will deposit a $100 bonus.
The reward is not instant and the minimum monthly requirement has doubled from last year, but by next year, you’ll have $1300 (plus interest) in your account. If you already have a savings account, this is a painless way to save for next year’s spring break or summer vacation (just schedule a recurring monthly transfer). If you don’t already have a savings account, bank promotions and market research opportunities are aplenty – you could easily earn the minimum monthly deposit amount each month, just through those two avenues.
