Nothing could have made my day any better…birthdays and holidays are a big deal at our house (we love to celebrate)!  Yesterday was my birthday, and amidst all of the wonderful goodies and special treatments, Elizabeth (self-proclaimed nickname of ‘Lyze’), gave me the BEST gift…and it seemed only fitting to post it on iMommies.

Along with some accompanying artwork, this is the poem she wrote and laid on the nightstand so that I would see it when I first awoke:

My Mommy

My mommy, I would have to say, is the very best
There’s no doubt she tops all the rest
She has loved me from the very start
Only because she has such a big heart
She knows just what to say
To brighten my worst days
She is really super smart
That has been obvious from the very start
My mommy has beauty beyond belief
That’s how I know I’ll be pretty, WHAT A RELIEF!
She makes things fun even when they’re not
She is just positive a whole flipping lot
She has me laughing over the weirdest stuff
Keeping a straight face is just way too tough
I love my mommy more than you know
I’ve loved her from the start of 13 years ago
She makes my days all worth living
She gives me that much love, and keeps on giving
My mommy is the best, as you can see
I’m so glad that she belongs to me
I Love You!

This weekend, the boys are going hunting, so Lyze, Reagan, and I are going to have a girls’ weekend!  YEA!  We’re thinking of hanging out at the mall on Saturday, going to lunch, watching a good love story with some popcorn, and anything else we can fit in…and somewhere during that time…I’ll buy a frame and matte to hang this poem in my office.
