Celebrate National Arbor Day With A Free Tree
National Arbor Day, which takes place on the last Friday in April (this year, April 25th), has been celebrated since 1872. This year, Empire National Nursery, out of North Carolina, is offering one free seedling per household, and they’re even covering the shipping costs.

Yes, the Arbor Day Free Tree offering has ended… Happily and sorry to say, we have had an overwhelming response requesting the trees. As of this morning (2/21), we had to change the webpage and offering…
When we lift and grade-out our trees in the Fall through Winter, those not meeting our intended size are usually replanted in the beds to grow until the following season. This year, we decided to offer a true freebie… no costs at all, not even the shipping. Nice seedlings, just smaller than our regular sales items. Of the thousands we had planned and set aside for this offering, they went quickly…
Our hope was to give something fun, that would also encourage tree-planting and learning more about the many benefits trees give us. And in so doing, getting a tree into the hands of people that wanted them, is a benefit to everyone. We were truly amazed at the response, and very appreciative ofeveryone taking the time. Trees offer so much…
Of the thousands and thousands of current requests that we are unable to fill with the free tree, we are going to try and send each (or as many as possible) a free gift certificate. Not the same… but still its something free (and tree-related).
Our Arbor Day webpage is at (http://www.cdr3.com/arborday). To wade through all of the current messages will take some time, so if your message is among them… please have patience.
Thank you… and Happy National Arbor Day (April 25th)!
