iMommies Giveaways From Motionbox!

Motionbox is giving away lots of goodies to FIVE lucky iMommies readers!  So…what is Motionbox?  Motionbox is to digital videos what companies like Snapfish and Shutterfly are to digital photos.  It’s a web-based toolset for the average, not super tech-savvy consumer that provides a place to easily capture, enhance, share, and preserve video memories.  If you’re anything like me, you have a number of handheld gadgets that take digital video, but no real way of hosting or displaying those videos.  Until Motionbox, my videos sat lifeless and unaccessed in a Windows file, never to be seen by the outside world.

Motionbox to the rescue!  This past Tuesday, Motionbox introduced their new solution for personal, private video-sharing with friends and family.  With so many consumers owning a video-enabled device (whether it’s a point-and-shoot camera, the new Flip Video player, iPhone, etc.), most do only a few things with them: upload to YouTube (eek! That can be scary), use editing software for the super tech-savvy, or like most of us…leave it on the device.

Motionbox to Motionbooks

It’s the ease of use, security, and creative capabilities of the site that make Motionbox a pioneer in this targeted space.  Alongside the consumer introduction, Motionbox will also be launching a premium service with unique storage and output benefits, as well as avenues for creating original hard goods called Motionbooks.  Motionbooks are similar to the traditional flip-book, and allow you to take 15 seconds of your favorite video and turn it into a handheld video keepsake (or a fun way to send out holiday greetings with the kids this year)!  They’re perfect hostess gifts, stocking stuffers, and tangible keepsakes that can display your precious videos without ever needing access to a computer, TV, or electronic device.

Motionbook

How exactly does this work?  It couldn’t be easier…simply plug your camera or phone into your computer, download the videos, then upload to Motionbox.  They offer a free service for those who take only a few videos throughout the year, as well as a premium membership with unlimited hosting for only $30 per year.  If you’d like to create a Motionbook from your Motionbox hosted video, you simply select a 15-second clip, then select a book theme, and Motionbox does the rest!

    I love this. This would be a great help. I have ten children and I am a widow and we would love to have this to take pictures for their grandmothers and grandfathers. They live so far away and would love to see pictures of the children. We are having a hard time right now but I have found this sight to pick up my spirits for the holidays.
