‘Twas The Morning Of Christmas Eve…
‘Twas the morning of Christmas Eve, when all through the house,
Not a sound could be heard, but the click of the mouse;
The gifts were all wrapped; the ribbons tied with care,
In hopes that Christmas morning smiles soon would be there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of iPods, Playstations, and kittens all danced in their heads.
With my husband in bed, and I on my way,
I had just stopped at the computer after a long day of play,
When from out of my email, there arose such a clatter,
I danced in my chair and my teeth began to chatter.
Away to an internet window I flew in a flash,
Pasted in the link, and then stared at the free cash!
The light on the creast of the new fallen cold
Gave the luster of mid-day…no it didn’t…it’s 3am, regardless of what you’ve been told!
Anyway…what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But $15 at American Eagle…to be used through the end of the year!

(To prevent further use of this coupon, the link has been removed. While we have no reason to believe the coupon fraudulent, AE’s corporate office is NOT authorizing its use.)
HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!

I love this poem! And my daughter will love this coupon.
This doesn’t seem to be pulling up on my computer. Anyone else having a problem? A new window opens for me, but it is just blank.
Nevermind! I got it now. Wasn’t working in Internet Explorer, but got it to open with AOL.
Hay,
What about those people that cannot print?
How very nice of you to offer this up for some lucky winner!
Love the poem! Better ending than I expected too! lol
Have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where is the coupon from? I can see that it’s hosted by imommies.com, but how can someone verify the legitimacy?
The coupon is from AE.com, and was sent out via email to many AE customers. I hosted it here to avoid publishing my work email address in the link. (I promise I am neither smart enough, nor brave enough to create my own coupon
)
Merry Christmas!
Thanks, Jennifer!
Thank you for the coupon…….
Merry Christmas
Wonderful poem! Thanks so much for this too!! What a great coupon!
Oh, I almost forgot…Happy Holidays!
You are so creative and awesome!
Great poem! I have a question, the coupon says valid for one time use….does this mean that we can’t print 2 and us at different times?
Thanks!!
Have a very Merry Christmas!!!!
Not at all - print more than one and use them in separate transactions!
Thank you for the coupon!
Have a Safe and Happy Holiday!
They did not honor the coupon. Said there should be some other code. This was in Woodbridge Mall, NJ
Hmm - a friend of mine from Indiana used it twice…using just the scanned barcode.
Though I don’t know of all locations at which it’s worked, it was accepted at least in:
Jersey City, NJ
Santa Anita, CA
Plainfield, IN
Town Center Plaza (Mall), KS
It IS possible that AE has since pulled the coupon…stores can be notorious for that (issuing a coupon, and then later regretting it
).
I used three of them in St. Pete, Fl today.

may the good richly bless you this coming year
Yay! I love free stuff! I hope to get to the stores Wednesday to use these.
Thanks so much. I gave one to my daughter and her friend who are going shopping for the sales tomorrow.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

I tried the AE coupon today 11/26 in Palm Beach Gardens, FL and the Manager quickly told me all the stores received an email alert that the $15 off internet coupon is fraudulent. Of course AE still wanted to ring up my merchandise. It would be nice to confirm these type of coupons with the appropriate PR depts. before people drive to the tune of $3.10/gallon.
I tried using it in Mesquite Texas. They told me it was a fraud. They also wanted to know what web site did we get it from.
No go in Concord, NC
They said it was counterfiet =o
I just tried using the coupon at American Eagle, the coupon & code both came up as invalid. When the cashier asked for help with it, she was informed that it was a fake coupon & was not authorized. They even showed me the other ones just like it that they had confiscated. It was worth the try though b/c they had great deals going on.
My daughter and I both printed different coupons and went to the store in Killeen, TX and were turned down. The manager said that they were for employees and that they were definitely no good. They only print out coupons for birthdays which say 15% off and one other kind. I recommend that if you are going to run somewhere of any distance that you check with the store first. I used the Post It Notes coupon at Staples today and also used a Quick and Simple coupon here in Texas. In my town in Wisconsin they would not accept the Quick and Simple coupon. The Post it Notes coupon could not be entered by the associate so the manager came and got it to work. My suggestion therefore is to ask for the manager. Each state and town and store seem to have different policies. These coupons definitely need to be checked out by each individual because there are so many different policies. Wish it could have been good. I really enjoy this iMommies site.
It didnt work for me either here in Maryland, she loudly said this coupon was fraudulent
DIDNT WORK IN
SANTA ANA CA BETTER LUCK TO OTHERS ):
(SARA DONT BOTHER GOING)
I WOULD DEFENETLY CALL MANAGER FIRST!!!!!!!!
Not accepted in Houston, TX! Too bad!
Has anyone tried it in PA? I’m guessing that the fraud alert would have been sent to all AE stores, though. I used the Post-It coupons (3 in one transaction at my Walmart), and she just scanned them-no problems, no questions. I’d better stop my 3 girls before they head to the mall today-they’ll DIE if they get questioned.
Keep up the good work, Jennifer! You still post the BEST stuff!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, ALL!
AE in Brea Mall (CA) did not honor it as well. They said they needed the original & don’t know how this coupon got out/circulated.
I used 2 coupons on 12/24 no problem -even think they scanned them. When I tried to use more yesterday 12/26 they told me they were counterfait.
Would not work here in Austin, TX.
Bummer!!
for me tooo worked on 12/24 but not 12/27……
Coupon worked alright in Southern CA. Thanks! I think this is just another case of poor coupon management on the part of AE! MANY retail establishments have coupons like this, like Lane Bryant. The difference is that LB has specific instructions for the employees to enter the discount into their computers. There were no instructions on these coupons. Seems to happen all the time. And when a lot of people start using them, then the company gets Coupon Remorse and tells everyone they’re fraudulent. Coupon = good. AE mgmt = bad. Thanks for all you do, Jennifer!
I tried to use the coupon in Tampa, FL. and was told by management it was fradulent.
I went to the mall yesturday, and they would not take this coupon. The store manager said it is a fake coupon going around online. I was very embarrased, they were questioning me about where I got it from…this was in Florida.
I used 2 coupons in Greensboro, NC this week. They took them with no questions asked. I got a hat and a silver necklace for less than $5. Then I tried using the coupons last night in my area. The manager said the coupons were fradulent, someone made up the coupons, that AE NEVER made a $15 coupon. As if!!!!!! If they never made the coupon, then why did it scan the first time. I think they are having big time coupon remorse. I don’t know what the big deal is. AE is making tons of money; no doubt about it.
I used this in jackson tennessee…Although they kinda acted like it wasn’t real..they had alot of problems trying to scan it but the manager overrode it with no questions asked…
AE WILL NOT honor this coupon! The Manager was there and said that they received a voice mail about this and it IS fradulant!!!!!! DON’T use it!!!!
Didnt work in Alabama….Oh well, whats the saying,’its the thought that counts!’
Thanks anyways!
I just want to add that when my brother went to the cashier first and I was still looking around, the cashier was SO rude, she RIPPED it up right in front of him. I felt sooo mad the whole night at this cashier doing that to my brother in front of everyone. No fault of his own or mine but this was HUMILIATING to my Brother! This was before the Manager came out and he explained to us that it’s FRADULANT!
He was kind enough to offer me 20% off for something I wanted but forget that! I don’t want it. This was in Maryland.
I recommend not attempting to use this coupon anymore. Though many have used it successfully, there are enough issues surrounding its acceptance to warrant avoiding the potential frustration and humiliation.
Unfortunately, not all companies handle their own coupons with grace (as we saw a couple of months ago with Kmart, for example). I’m thankful that many were able to use the AMERICAN EAGLE-PUBLISHED coupon successfully. For those of you who were less fortunate, I apologize for the frustration. There will be other opportunities for great savings down the road, and this one should simply go the way of Juicy Juice.
(For those of you who don’t remember the Juicy Juice fiasco…Nestle published a coupon good for up to $3.50 off any Juicy Juice product - which meant free Juicy Juice from any retailer that accepted internet coupons. The coupon was a PDF that could be printed as many times as needed. After “coupon remorse”, Nestle withdrew the coupon and tried to declare it fraudulent, even threatening to press charges for anyone who used it. The coupon was hosted on the Juicy Juice website, and there was nothing fraudulent about it…just an apparent ill-planned promotion that Nestle regretted after enough free juices were redeemed.)
Again, some money-savings are simply not worth the cost of personal frustration, and this appears to be one of them.
Does not work in Phoenix area American Eagle store either. Like others I was told it was a fraud. BUT they did give me 20% off my purchase anyway so at least that was better than nothing.
I tried to use mine today, and the manager here in Tallahassee, FL told me that this coupon was sent out by a hacker to their mailing list. It is, apparently, missing a certain authorization code of authenticity. She told me that some stores were honoring it before they received word from corporate. Thanks for sharing with us!
Worked fine for me, they even put both of mine together so I got $30. I got hubby a hat, my a perfume & earrings. All I had to pay was 42 cents.
This was on Christmas Eve though in MI.
Hi, here in WV they said this coupon was fraudulant and they asked if I could say where it came from because he (the manager) was trying to find out. I personally felt it looked funny since it printed so plainly–no http://americaneagle type around the bottom of print out like most internet coupons
I tried to use this coupon tonight in NH and the manager said that it was fraud and asked where the coupon came from. Do not try using the coupon!!
I tried using this coupon today, and the lady stated it was a fraudulent coupon, she said it loud enough, for lothers to hear, like i was trying to scam them, and i felt really humiliated.
Same story, different state. Tried to use in Wichita, KS and they wouldn’t accept it. Thankfully they didn’t embarrass me and yell that it was fraudulant in front of the whole story like other people. But I love all the other good deals on this website. Thanks!
these were fake!!!! i went on the last day with my husband and i was very embarised when the clerk told me oh i am sorry these are fakes, we just got the email today! i am very discouraged from believing in this site now!
I too am less than excited about trusting the coupons from this site. I tried this one and the Sears coupons and both were fakes. Is there a way to have the legitimacy verified before posting them? Thanks.
