Super Bowl XLII On A Budget
Here’s a fairly low-budget option for planning an all-American Super Bowl party this Sunday. Feed a group of 20 (or more, depending on appetites), for about $30. (I know, I know…you COULD do much better than this with some planning ahead, but if you haven’t had time to stock up or prepare, this is pretty inexpensive for last-minute shopping, and it even includes beverages!)

Menu (Serves 20+):
Hot Dogs with Chili, Cheese, & Onion
Potato Chips
Crackers
Canned Pepsi (& Pepsi Varieties)
Shopping Lists:
A.) Safeway ($12.50 or less) Hot Dogs, Buns, Chili, Onions
B.) CVS ($13-$18) Potato Chips, Pepsi
C.) Target ($1.18) String Cheese, Crackers
Safeway (or any Safeway-owned store):

(To add desserts to the menu, purchase 5 SaraLee pie/cheesecake varieties, priced at $3.50 each, BEFORE the chili transaction…you’ll receive another $10 Catalina to pay for the chili and onions.)

4.) In a second transaction, purchase $15 in chips (5-7 bags)
5.) At checkout, use another $3 Off $15 coupon
6.) Pay for your total with the $10 Extra Care Bucks from the first transaction and $2 cash.
(Final price after both transactions: $13-$18, depending on quantities of coupons used)
Target (Target OR SuperTarget – thanks, Keren!)
1.) Purchase 40 individual-sized packages of Market Pantry string cheese (priced at $0.24 each)
2.) Purchase 4 boxes of Kashi TLC Crackers (priced at $2.59 each)
3.) At Checkout, use the following coupons:
a.) $2 Off Kashi (X2 coupons) and

(To add salad to the menu, click HERE for SuperTarget coupons and details. Purchase ten 6-ounce bags from SuperTarget, and your entire total will $0)
Unfortunately, this requires shopping at three very specific stores, which may not all be conveniently located in your area. (Thrifty Mommy feels your pain!) What other deals have YOU found for Super Bowl XLII party planning?

Thanks for the link.
Wow – Thanks! I have been to VONS 3 times today, and now my freezer is jam-packed with goodies + I still have another $10 to roll tomorrow! Thanks for the link, and the great tip!
Do you know which stores here in Denton are considered a Safeway store?
wow!!!!!!!! i love this
Cindy, there aren’t any Safeway stores in Denton, but there is a Tom Thumb store right around the corner from your church in Flower Mound
(and Tom Thumb is participating in this promotion).
