Stock The Pantry 03/17/09: Walgreens (Dove)
Best case scenario? You’ll earn $1.68 for each purchase of eight single Dove bars (the soap – not the chocolate, unforunately)! Worst case scenario? You’ll have to pay $0.19 per bar.

Check your local Walgreens weekly ad for the Dove Register Rewards deal (valid through 03/21/09). At some store locations, a purchase of eight Dove products will prompt an $8 Register Reward…at other stores, the same purchase will prompt a $10 Register Reward.
Best-Case Scenario
Purchase (8) Single Bars of Dove Soap: $1.19 each (with the current 25% discount)
Pay $9.52 + tax
Receive $10 in Register Rewards
Bottom Line Cost: -$0.08 ($-0.01 per bar)
Worst-Case Scenario
Purchase (8) Single Bars of Dove Soap: $1.19 each (with the current 25% discount)
Pay $9.52 + tax
Receive $8 in Register Rewards
Bottom Line Cost: $1.52 ($0.19 per bar)
Notes for Either Scenario
1.) The above does require that you purchase the items first, though you may pay with Register Rewards from past Walgreens RR deals if you have them.
2.) Walgreens does not track individual “deal redemption”, thus you can repeat an unlimited number of transactions for the same deal. Again, do not use the Dove Register Reward to pay for another Dove Register Reward transaction (you won’t receive the second Register Reward).
3.) Use manufacturer coupons if you have them, to improve your bottom line cost! Printable coupons for various Dove products are available HERE, HERE, and HERE (thanks Mommy Snacks!).
4.) Don’t forget the other March monthly freebies while you’re there!
Thanks to Money Saving Mom for the reminder!

The 3rd link gave me a “sorry you have already printed the coupon the maximum number of times” error.
Jennifer,
I don’t quite understand how you get the dove soap for either free or .19 cents a bar if you have to pay for them first??? Can you educate me on how it works? I don’t understand the CVS bucks either??? Do you have to have the cash to pay for the initial purchases and then on your NEXT same item purchase you get it for free?
Sorry, I’m confused as to how this works…I am such a beginner! Ha ha.
Cheryl Lynn Moore
Cheryl Lynn – so sorry I missed this until tonight (and now the deal is over)…but you’ll know for next time. You actually have to pay for the items out of pocket first, but your receipt will print with the Walgreens’ “Register Rewards”.
Register Rewards are just like cash (though can only be used at Walgreens!). You can purchase virtually anything at their store, and pay with the RRs earned from a previous purchase. With Walgreens, be sure that you don’t use RRs from one deal to pay for a repeat of the same deal (doing so will prevent RRs from printing on the 2nd transaction).
Just as an example, let’s say you bought 8 bars of Dove…you would have to pay $9.52 out of pocket, but then you would receive $8-$10 in RRs that could be used to purchase another $8-$10 in merchandise.
