Something cool happened to me last night at Safeway, and I have no idea how! Our Safeway has Honey Bunches of Oats on sale 2/$4 and a Sunday insert coupon for Cinnamon Life and Cinnamon Toast Crunch 5/$5. I took with me 6 coupons for $2 off Honey Bunces of Oats and 4 coupons for $1 off Cinnamon Life. I bought 6 boxes of Honey Bunches of Oats and 5 boxes of Cinnamon Life (plus 2 jars of sunflower seeds at 2/$2.22). At the checkstand, I was expecting to pay a total of $3.22.

Instead, there was more than $6 overage. The cashier was going to zero it out, because they can’t give cash back. But there was no one in line behind me, so I RAN to the dairy section and grabbed two gallons of milk and two pounds of cheddar cheese.

When all was said and done, I owed $3.59 for over $60 worth of groceries. Somehow, $10 was deducted for cereal automatically. I’m assuming it was for purchasing 6 boxes of Honey Bunches of Oats, but I haven’t seen that advertised anywhere. I’d like to go back and do the same thing tonight, but I’m worried that it might have been a fluke.

  2. When I went this morning, the coupon deducted $10 off automatically. It sounds like your cashier may have given you the $10 off twice if she manually took another $10 off with the coupon. I would have been really excited if that happened as well! I had a $10 off $50 from the Enjoy The City coupon book so I got a great deal and was thrilled!

I went to my local Walgreens with the coupons for the Jane make-up and got 3 rounds of lipgloss (with 5 colors per round), a mascara, 2 lipsticks, and 2 blush – and walked out paying $1.37! THANKS!!!
