But how about you?
Anyone else have a family who thinks it’s hysterical to tell the restaurant waitstaff to embarrass you for your birthday…even when it’s NOT your birthday? Why is that funny? I try to be a good sport for everyone’s laughing enjoyment, but seriously – enough with the saddle at Texas Roadhouse already! I should be 102 by now, which is well past the prime for saddled sawhorses!
All kidding aside, I’m sure at least ONE of you is celebrating a birthday today! (And a VERY Happy Birthday to YOU!) The rest of us can just save this list for one of the other 364 days of the year when that statement is true! Today is indeed my sister’s 26th Birthday. I will happily share this with her! Thank you!
While some people do find it hysterical to tell the waitstaff it’s somebody’s birthday when it’s not, it’s not funny. That is exactly the reason so many restaurants DON’T do it anymore. What was meant as a nice gesture has been abused so much, restaurants don’t want any part of it. Just something that needs to be taken into considerations before killing the goose that lays the golden egg.
My birthday is in 5 days, and my family is notorious from promising that no one will sing to me…then they do. I’ve gotten to the point where I go to the bathroom when I see more than 2 employees gathered together! I would like to add to the list items from my birthday inbox: Arby’s, Captain D’s, Schlotzky’s, Logan’s Roadhouse, Longhorn Steakhouse, Famous Dave’s BBQ, Dairy Queen, Ruby Tuesday’s, Red Lobster & Krispy Kreme.
