Free Tools And Houseplants From Home Depot

12

This isn’t new – just an alternative to shopping at Sears and Lowe’s.  The Home Depot accepts competitor coupons, so you can pick up your tools and plants in one stop!

The Home Depot

Click HERE for the Sears tools coupon (good through 01/22/08).

Click HERE for the Lowe’s houseplants coupon (good through 01/31/08).

Then take them both to Home Depot :)

I called my HD just to make sure they’d take the coupon for the houseplants. I was told that they would. So I went in yesterday for two separate trips. On my first trip, no questions were asked, I got $10 off (making both my plants free). On my second trip, they told me that they stopped taking Lowes coupons 6 months ago, and they only gave me $6.49 (the price of one plant) off. Oh well, I still got three completely free plants!

Has anyone tried Lowes? Do they make you prove that you are a member of their plant club?

  2. Re Home Depot: If they stopped accepting Lowe’s coupons, most of the stores are certainly not aware of it…good idea to call ahead though.

Re Lowe’s: Proof of membership is not required to use the Learn2Grow coupon. Note: The coupon will not work on clearanced plants, unless you get a really nice cashier :)

My Home Depot would not accept the Sears coupon. :( You might just want to check with customer service on them both when you walk in!

I registered but when I tried to use the link for the Lowe’s coupon, I just got the January Houseplant page. Is the coupon no longer available? I sure would like to get a couple of houseplants for my condo, it is so drab! Let me know please.

Thank you so much for that info. Home Depot accepted both my Sears & Lowe’s coupons.

Thank you to the person who directed me to the six $10 coupons….I can share with friends!!! Thanks so much

These coupons are both a scam… I printed both out and got a red face both places. My friend got both of them before they caught on though…… so guess the early bird won in these cases.

  8. Michelle, I apologize for your frustration…unfortunately, not all employees are educated about the coupons published by the company for which they work. You should ask for the store manager at BOTH locations, and if they still won’t accept them, ask them to call the corporate offices (of Sears, Lowe’s, and Learn2Grow). All three of those companies are standing behind these coupons at the corporate level, as they were published at the corporate level (and available publicly from the stores’ main websites).

Thanks Barbara! I was hoping to give my cousin one of these coupons. She just got her first apt. When I looked for it, it was gone. Now I can still give her one! :) Plants always make things a little homier!

ok, here is my story!! i printed two of the lowes coupons (one for me, one for fiance) and we went to home depot. went to customer service, asked if theywould accept, they said yes, dated it, and said to have cashier speak to jeff if there was any question. so, we picked out our plants, each 7.99. well, we went to the cashier to check out. at first she didnt want to accept them because they dont take lowes internet coupons. we said to call jeff, he said yes, take them. then she is arguing with jeff that they arent dated. i show her the expiration date, and also the date that customer service put on. she insisted that the “date” from customer service was the store number. showed her on my fiances, where you could read it a little better and she still wanted to argue until jeff told her to take it!! well instead of just taking off the cost of the plant, she said we needed to spend $10. well, my fiance had a few other odds and ends to buy, so we put them with our items so we each had a little over $10 of stuff. well, she removed $10 off of each of our bills, EVEN THOUGH it was only $10 off of a plant… i was not about to argue with her after everything we went through just to get her to take the coupon!

After my luck went sour at HD, I went to Lowes, who wouldn’t take mine either! They said it wasn’t the “real” coupon, and that it had to say Learn2Grow on it, which it does, in text. I am not sure what the original coupon looked like.

I would’ve loved more free plants. Should I try again?
