Apple retail stores offer four free workshops that are recommended for kids ages 8 to 12. You can register your child for two of the four workshops.  Workshops available are: Podcast, Web and iPhoto, Music, and Movies.  Each workshop is two and half hours, and Apple provides all of the materials required.

At the end of each workshop, kids are allowed to bring home items they created in the workshop, along with several other goodies, including free giveaways.
