I’ve Missed You :)

First of all, I must apologize for disappearing off the face of the planet. I don’t really know what to say, without boring you with details, but for all of you who wrote, called, and left comments: Thank You…I’ve missed all of you, missed iMommies, and am ready for life to settle down…just a bit! My husband and I celebrated our 15-year anniversary with a romantic getaway, mourned the loss of a very dear person in our lives, and, most recently, I threw my very first surprise party (my husband’s 40th birthday).

Happy Mother’s Day & Happy 1st Blogoversary!

Happy Mother’s Day! What better way to celebrate iMommies’ one-year Blogoversary than on Mother’s Day? I’m all about holidays - our first child was born on my favorite holiday (Christmas), our second child is a Thanksgiving birthday (every four years), our third child was born on National Reagan Day (we had to create a holiday for her!), and iMommies was born on Mother’s Day! It’s time to break out the party hats, cake, and…new logo!

Get your own free Blogoversary button!

Since Mother’s Day was on May 13th last year, our blogoversary is technically this Tuesday, but…Mother’s Day is much easier to remember…and, of course, it’s a holiday! It’s been a great year - we’ve gone from 20 unique monthly visitors to almost 30,000 last month, and those numbers continue to grow. What does that mean for iMommies? I don’t know…I guess it means we continue to grow! At any rate, iMommies has a brand new logo to celebrate the occasion, and that new logo will soon be incorporated into a brand new look. Here’s the old logo…fairly simple…just temporary word art…

NOW, here’s the new logo…

Market Research Methods & Opportunities

You’ve probably all seen some of these market research opportunities posted on iMommies, but many of you have never participated, outside of the online survey sites.  If you’re not familiar with the market research industry, hopefully this will provide some insight.

Marketing Research

Paid market research events can be great opportunities for earning a little extra income, and are typically posted under the “Upcoming Income Events” category on iMommies.  While many online survey sites ‘pay’ participants with points that equate to prizes or cash, there’s another sector of this industry that rewards participation with a much higher return…usually no less than $50 per hour.

iMommies Introduces: Me!

My friend, Karen, at Thrifty Mommy tagged me with this “Tell 5 things about yourself” game.  I’ve never actually participated in a blog game, but thought it sounded fun, and since I’m sharing a few things, decided to formally introduce myself!

Me

Hi!  My name is Jennifer!  Just kidding…I’ll skip past the usual stuff that many of you already know (I adore my kids and husband, like to save money, etc.).  So here it is…five random things about me, that you may or may not already know (in no particular order)…

Meet Naomi Hattaway and Liz Weirshousky, founders of Rock-n-Tot!

Rock-n-Tot

Win tickets to the premiere opening events in Cleveland, Ohio and Washington, DC!
 Rock-n-Tot Locations

Rock-n-Tot: Meet Naomi
I am the mother of three kiddos, two boys who are 13 and 4, and a little girl who is 19 months. My family has lived in the Cleveland area for going on 3 years.  I was a paralegal before I became a SAHM.  I love throwing parties, organizing events and my morning coffee. Laundry is my least favorite chore!  My hope is to stay home with the kids until the youngest is in kindergarten and I’m excited to see what life brings me in the next 3-5 years.

Rock-n-Tot: Naomi & Liz

 Rock-n-Tot: Liz
I am the mother of a 20-month old girl. We have been living in the DC area for 6 years now. We are always working on our 60-year old house and feel the “project” may never be finished, but that is half the fun of a vintage home. I love Mocha Frappucinos from Starbucks and I’m an insane craft nerd.  Laundry is my least favorite chore! I work outside of the home, in addition to this new venture and can’t wait until our debut Rock-n-Tot events!

iMommies Introduces: Cindy Knight

My name is Cindy Knight, owner of CK Specialties, and I’m giving away $10 gift cards to all iMommies readers for the next six days!

CK Specialties Gift Card

About Me:  I started out retailing business cards and stationary in the Greater New Orleans area in 1997. After attempting to rebuild during 2006, post-Hurricane Katrina, I moved back North to Ohio to be with my aging parents. My Mom is in a nursing home, and my Dad was living alone. My children are Nero (a cat) and Meg (a dog)!

Cindy Knight

What I Do:  Though I also do property inspections from time to time, I had looked into the products for CK Specialties three times over the course of seven years, and finally decided to go for it!  I’ve been with my supplier for eight months, and have primarily sold locally, but have recently begun branching out nationwide. As much as I have ordered since April, I have yet to have any problems with quality or workmanship, have been very impressed with everything I’ve ordered, and have received no complaints!
