Well, now that I have your attention with that URGENT line…hmm…so many things I could say! Unfortunately, I get all nervous with public speaking…
And now you’re all watching me stammer…
Wondering what it is I have to say…
I’m turning all shades of red…
(Oh, just spit it out, for crying out loud!)

They say you only have a couple of lines to grab your audience, but keep on reading – it can only get better, right?

Okay, here goes! I don’t think I’ve ever made a “public” plea (and if I have, I’ve either forgotten about it or I’m pretending that it didn’t count). Today is September 26th…which happens to be my birthday, but that’s just a random fact I threw out for recognition, and it has nothing to do with this post.  As I was saying…*Ahem*…Today is September 26th, and our very awesome iMommies friend, and my personal “kindred spirit”, Cheryl Lynn Moore, has made it to the last round of TheNetstar vocal contest. This week is “The Top 5″, and on Monday night (September 28th at 11pm CST), the voting period will end, and the contestant with the most votes will win a one-year recording contract with TheNetStar (among other awesome opportunities).

So here’s the thing – I can’t say that TheNetStar is “in the stars” for Cheryl Lynn, because…well, I’m not God, and only He knows that! But I DO believe that, no matter what, you give your all – you put forth every amount of humanly effort possible, and let God control the outcome. So that’s what I’m doing here (although it may not seem like much effort on my part given all of the rambling!), and that’s what Cheryl Lynn has done throughout this competition…the effort part, not the rambling.  She’s genuinely compassionate, sincerely devoted to God and family, seriously talented (singer AND songwriter)…and I just love her to pieces!  (Yes, I’m biased…but win or lose, WHO SHE IS will be her legacy.  You’ll have to hear her latest song to get that reference!)

Cheryl Lynn Moore

Alrighty, here goes with my first “public plea” (and, Lord, may it by my last, as this is so obviously not my area of talent!): Please go check out the Country/Contemporary Christian vocal competition at TheNetStar.com…and CAST A VOTE!

I’d like to introduce you to a very dear friend of mine…
The one and only: Cheryl Lynn Moore!

Cheryl Lynn Moore

Cheryl Lynn is an extraordinary character whose joy, compassion, energy, and generosity know no boundaries.  I could write a book on her personality alone, but for the sake of this article, I’ll give you the Cliff Notes version: Throughout the Earth, I believe God strategically plants people like Cheryl Lynn - those who allow His light to illuminate even the darkest and most desolate areas.  Just as He hung stars to light the nighttime sky, I believe He places “walking stars” among us to achieve the same effect on Earth.  No doubt – Cheryl Lynn is a walking star, but she’s taking her journey to an entirely new dimension…

We have stars in the sky and stars on the earth – it seems only fitting to have stars on the worldwide web.  We’ll call them “Net Stars”!  Assuredly, I had never heard of this website two weeks ago, but when Cheryl Lynn told me she was entering a vocal competition at TheNetStar.com, it was a total epiphany that had to be shared!

TheNetStar.com

TheNetStar.com is a brand new company that touts itself as “The World’s Most Organic Online Singing Contest”.  Amateur, semi-professional, and professional talent, worldwide, may enter in one of several different musical genres, and via public voting, contestants progress through tiered phases of the competition until a final winner has been determined.  The grand prize winner in each genre receives an all-expenses-paid/two-week trip to Colorado to record with Grammy Award-winning musicians and engineers, a one-year recording contract with NetStarMusic, and a four-song EP package made available for download on TheNetStar.com.

Cheryl Lynn Moore

Beginning today, August 8th, Cheryl Lynn is one of twelve contestants in the qualification round of the Country/Christian Contemporary Music division contest.   The entire competition will last eight weeks, and will include a total of five songs (one per round) from each contestant.  Cheryl Lynn’s vocal selection in the first round (which she also wrote) is titled “Just Hold On”.  (The next voting round will begin September 2nd, so be sure to click HERE to receive new voting segment updates and reminders via email.)

Click HERE to review (and vote for!) Cheryl Lynn Moore’s “Just Hold On”…and place a Walking Star amongst the NetStars!

You remind me so much of my Daddy

I have been a Dad now for nine years. First Austin, then about six years ago, Adam. Beautiful boys. They crawl all over me, watch me, run to me when they are hurt, and of course, I am trying hard to become the man they think I am—the man my father was. Sometimes, I wonder if I will live up to the example he set for me.

Hi, I’m Carol!  I’m married to my very supportive and encouraging husband, Scott, and we have three children: Chris (17), Amy (15), and Matt (13).  My pet family includes Rose, Lillian, Lexy, and Precious – who have all been a very important part of my life.

About two years ago, I began looking for a home-based business so that I could be around my kids while also contributing to the family, financially…I found Shure Pets on the Internet, and I’ve had great success over the past couple of years!  Shure Pets is the perfect fit for me because of my passion for pets and my desire to make extra money. I host Shure Pets parties (Pupperware Parties!) about once a week when I invite 6-10 guests and their pets to a day of fun, showcasing health & wellness, pampering, pet products and more.  Shure Pets parties are an easy way to make money, socialize with friends, make new acquaintances, test products, and purchase pet items such as the Pur-sonalized Pet Throw and Canine Breath Mints, just to name a couple.

Besides providing supplemental income for my family, being a Shure Pets Consultant is also a great time for my daughter, Amy, and I to bond, since she often attends parties with me.  Shure Pets is the perfect way for stay-at-home moms, and working moms looking for supplemental income alike, to get a quick, inexpensive start in a home-based business.  In this difficult economy, women across the country are looking for new ways to bring in supplemental income and to stay active in their communities, despite the hard times. The flexible schedule afforded with Shure Pets allows me to balance work and family life, and earn extra money, as well.

Most of us associate the term “arts and crafts” with something along the lines of scissors and a hot glue gun, but Ana brings entirely new meaning to the term.

Ana B. Galano

Even as a child, I was always doing something creative – whether it was sewing clothes for my barbies out of scrap fabrics or making different kinds of crafts, I have always given in to my creative side.  As I got older, I made it official and pursued my Bachelors degree in Painting, followed by a Masters Degree in Painting.  My work is mixed media, however, since I let the idea dictate the medium used.
