Our family was dining at the Outback Steakhouse last week, and discovered they were celebrating their 20th birthday!  I’ll celebrate just about anything - especially if it involves a ribeye, Alice Springs Chicken, or a Bloomin’ Onion!

There’s a new pet at our house, and his name is Mashaka (Mashaka Zoobie Schaefer to be exact).  Mashaka is our three-year old’s newest pet monkey, and she takes him everywhere (even where pets aren’t allowed)!  In the past few days, Mashaka has been to two hospitals, the mall, Pappadeaux, school, church, and even…AT THE DINNER TABLE!  (We’re horrible parents!)

Mashaka is so popular at our house that our older two kids are asking for their own take-everywhere pet too (surprisingly enough - even our 14-year old daughter has put in a request).  Here’s why Mashaka Zoobie Schaefer is so popular:

1.) He can go everywhere.
2.) He loves to snuggle.
3.) His soft fur keeps you warm.
4.) He doesn’t mind being used as a pillow.
5.) He carries stuff.
6.) He’s very loyal.
7.) And my favorite: He makes no messes!

Recently adopted from the Zoobie family, Mashaka has made himself quite at home in our house.  He’s enjoying life here so much that he’s asked us to help find a home for his cousin, Rhaxma Zoobie, who was just recently placed on the adoption list.  When asked, “Which family?”, Mashaka and Rhaxma both agreed: ANY iMommies family would be wonderful!

Or…Happy St. iPodtrick’s Day for a couple of you!

The entries for the St. Patrick’s Day contest were all fabulous and incredibly educational.  In fact, as I write this, we have a tiny little leprechaun trapped in a box outside - in the stones under the bushes.  I can hear him hammering his escape route now - our son is going to be thrilled that our homemade trap caught one of these mischievous little imps!  (The trick is obviously going to be to snag him from the trap before he gets away…little Pookins has already warned me that we must not even blink when lifting the box .)

Okay, I digress…all of that to say that we have thoroughly enjoyed reading all of the comments and blog posts, and have incorporated many of them into our St. Patrick’s Day celebrations!  One thing we won’t be enjoying, however, is a little Irish iPod…but that’s okay.  (When we nab the little leprechaun out front, we’ll make him lead us to his pot o’ gold before setting him free…and then we can buy more little green iPods!)

Rebecca St. Rebecca has chosen a couple of you, however, who won’t need the leprechaun’s pot o’ gold…a couple of you can just send me an email with your mailing address (and the words to be engraved on your iPod), and the little green leprechauns at the post office will deliver it to your door!  So who are these iPod winners with the luck o’ the Irish?
