The Search For Free Gift Cards: SwagBucks

Thanks to Money Saving Mom for passing this along! Not only can you earn points toward free gift cards from all of your online searches and shopping, you can also earn points from the online searches and shopping of your friends and families!

Swag Bucks

If you never refer one friend or family member, you can still earn free gift cards just from generating your regular online searches from Swag Bucks. Depending on how many searches you typically generate, you’ll probably earn enough Swag Bucks every month or two for a free $5 gift card. Yippee, right?

Perhaps I should introduce you to a professional who is so dedicated to “economic endeavors”, that she’s paid for most of Christmas with her Swag Bucks (several hundred dollars worth)! Wowza! Good job, Lavonne! That’s an Economic Endeavor of Excellence!

Earn Free Christmas Gifts (Without Spending A Penny!)

I’ve posted these before, but given the approaching holiday seasons, each of these concepts is worth repeating, and you have plenty of time to start earning so that your orders can be placed in time for Christmas.

1.) Earn free candles, diffusers, decorative items from Candle Bay. Click HERE to register, then refer your family and friends to do the same. You’ll earn $5 for registering, and $0.50 for each of your family and friends. Once your account reaches $10 (or more), select a gift, and pay for the item AND shipping costs with the amount you’ve earned from registration and referrals.

2.) Earn free perfume and skin care products from Perfume Emporium.  Click HERE to register, then refer your family and friends to do the same. You’ll earn $10 for registering, and $0.50 for each of your family and friends. Once you’re ready to order, select a gift, and pay for the item AND shipping costs with the amount you’ve earned from registration and referrals.

3.) Need to refer more friends and family?  Earn $2-$4 (to spend on anything) by inviting people to join your list of friends on 6dgr.  Click HERE to register with 6dgr, then post a link for Candle Bay and Perfume Emporium on your own 6dgr social networking site.

All of the above are free to join, free to share, and result in free cash and gifts!

Last month, Ipsos I-Say was heavily recruiting US residents to participate in paid online surveys, and they’ve now expanded those efforts to include the UK and Germany, as well.

Old Cell Phones Or iPods = Amazon Gift Cards!

Thanks, McKids Family - this is great timing for the holiday shopping season! Amazon’s flipswap trade-in program allows customers to trade in their old iPods or cell phones for Amazon.com gift cards. The process seems fairly simple and you can view the estimated trade-in value by entering in your product specifics.

As an example for trade-in values:
1.) Our 14-year old’s first iPod (original $200 purchase price, at a discount) was worth up to $36…probably less, since it doesn’t work right.
2.) My husband’s old cell phone (original $225 purchase price, after discounts and rebates) was worth up to $81.

It’s like trading in last year’s Christmas gifts for this year’s gifts :)

Back To School MONEY 2008: It Pays To Have Friends

I know the title of this post sounds tacky, but I’m not implying that you hit your friends up for cash to pay for school supplies. You know I would never do that, but I am implying that you hit your friends up for cash…to pay for anything! (Those who know me are now gasping in disbelief. :) ) I can explain this crazy logic in one mathematical sentence:

6dgr + I[(XU(4) + XUU(3) + XUUU(2)) + %(XU$ + XUU$ + XUUU$)]=$$$$$$$³

That was actually a little more difficult than I had predicted, so I’ll show my work to make sure I wrote the equation correctly! We’ll break it down by each segment…

1.) The first part of the equation is 6dgr. 6dgr is a free online networking site - very similar to Myspace, with one exception: they promote financial responsibility (via free money and a WaMu checking account and debit card).
