Market Research Dallas is recruiting women between the ages of 25 and 55, who are primary grocery shoppers for their household, to participate in a shopalong study taking place the week of November 12th. Participants will be rewarded:
1.) $150 for participating in a week-long daily blog about their shopping experiences
2.) $200 for participating in a two-hour shopalong and answering questions about their shopping experiences
At first, I was afraid to even look at the Balance in Diet blog, because I’m so…well…NOT balanced in diet! After perusing the site, I realized that I was in safe territory…the diet police were not equipped with webcams to catch me reading with a candy bar in hand!

So here’s my contribution to the festivities: more goodies from Buy.com! First, we had free screwdrivers, then a free flash drive, then free money or magazines, and now…two free packs of 8.5″ X 11″ premium glossy photo paper!
Ordering photos online is simply too easy, and too cost effective, but there are times when you need to print something out immediately without waiting on the mail or the local photo developers…and for those moments, keep a stash of photo paper handy!
It’s been a bit of a mess, and a struggle for many to get to this point, but the coupon fiasco has been resolved. I spoke with Roslyn at Kmart’s corporate office this morning, who confirmed that alerts were sent out to every store yesterday, instructing staff to ACCEPT the coupons. Conference calls were initiated with all store managers, and all Kmart staff should now be aware of the policy. It seems the confusion came about because the coupons were geared for a non-sale price, and since the candy was on sale, they didn’t scan correctly.
If further difficulties are encountered at the store, ask the Kmart staff member to call 800-549-4505, and at the prompt, enter 1, then 5 to speak with someone higher in the food chain that knows what’s going on. (As of this morning, Roberta in the Corporate Customer Service Department was still unaware of the policy change, but she’s with the program now ;)).
Market Research Dallas is recruiting men between the ages of 40 and 60 to participate in a shopalong clothing study taking place at various times throughout the first week of November, in the North Dallas area. The shopalong will take about an hour and a half, and pays $100.00. Participants must be employed full-time, shop for work clothes by themselves, and purchase/wear khaki or casual style pants, polo-style shirts, and button-down shirts.
